SECOND WORKSHOP COMPLETED

Palilula Municipality is one of 12 municipalities and only one in Serbia that entered Municipal Support Programme (MSP IPA 2007) and thus joined the Action Plan elaboration with the help of consultants MSP IPA 2007. At the first workshop, held in early July this year, each of the priority projects was being developed by special working group consisting of Municipal government officials and representatives of Palilula Municipality, responsible institutions and stakeholders. During the second workshop, held at the end of this week in Nis cultural center, working groups chose a strategy of projects implementation, created action plan and project budget and presented their project ideas. According to the President of Palilula words, with this project of support during the next five years, 44 projects development are planned of which 11 are priority.

This group includes arranging memorial park Bubanj, decorating the old cemetery "Gorica", development of tourism on the mountain Seličevica, removal of illegal dump sites and arranging inter-building areas in the municipality, increasing agricultural production by introducing quality standards, market reconstruction of Palilula and Bubanj - said the president Novakovic at the press conference. Adaptation of bus stops in the territory of Palilula will come first in this program. Milan Nikolic, Head of the economy and local development Palilula points out that while drafting the action plan they took into account strictly the priorities taking into account the current situation in the municipality. The main priorities are infrastructure, social development and the environment. Development of the Action Plan started in January this year and they were certain strategic priorities and objectives. 25 relevant institutions of the City of Nis and NGOs as partners in the Action Plan. The second workshop was led by Slavka Zupan and Jelena Mihajlovic Tanasijević, experts of the project SME IPA. For the realization of 44 projects has been allocated 7.5 million Euros, which would annually amount to about 1.5 million.
